A Midsummer Night's Dream Part 1 | Theatre Production Project, Aberystwyth University 2019
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare.
This abridged adaption locates Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in a contemporary setting, of a patriarchal, homophobic society, but aims to raise the spirits!
The humans do not know what awaits them in the forest as they try to find freedom, among mischievous forces, which prove capable of altering their experiences and perspectives delightfully and/or shockingly.
The hope for liberation involves some negotiation of dangers and unpredictability, when authoritarian order meets festive anarchic release.
Directed by David Ian Rabey- Staff director, Shannon Black and Elizabeth Sharpe- Student assistant directors. Filmed and edited by Przemyslaw Sobkowicz.
